Home-start is getting creative

We’ve had some lovely feedback from families getting creative with the Home-Start art packs…”The boys loved getting messy and the art pack had everything we needed to get going”, “All in all, it was a lovely set that helps me to do some activities with the boys …just having it in the house means I can grab it easily when they are getting a bit bored”…”because I have done the activities with the Home-start volunteer helping, I do feel a bit more confident in doing more things with the children”.

Shop Local to support Home-start

As you may have read, Co-op Local are now supporting us as through their Local Community Fund. This means that for every 1% spent on Co-op branded products and services in this area, Home-start Rushmoor & Hants will receive a share of the money.

They have also generously agreed to give a proportion of the funds taken from the sale of each carrier bar and reusable bag made in store too.  So far, sales from these products have raised a wonderful £818.00 in just the first few weeks of scheme, and it will be running until October.  So if you need to ‘pop out’ to get some shopping, please consider your local Co-op, and help us to help more families in need in our community.  Thank you!

You can make the difference.

Have you ever thought about volunteering for a local charity?  If you have, why not contact us at Home-start to find out more about how you can help young families in your local community.  Our volunteers make a real difference to people’s lives, often helping to bring about a better future for the parents and the children we support.

If you could give up just a couple of hours a week to help a parent who feels isolated get out and about, provide an extra pair of hands to someone with twins or triplets, or just be there for someone struggling with mental or physical illness to cope with family life, then we would love to hear from you.

Our next preparation course starts in September, and we’d love to see you there.

For more information, please contact the office on 01252 398530 / 07718 424321 or alternatively email us at admin@homestartrushmoor.org.uk
